questioner May 20, 2010.

I chose this picture because, when Tom gets transported he finds his father. His father happens to be the captain of the ship. So now Tom and his father are trying to find a way that Tom won't have to be transported to Australia. But that is where the book ends and we will not know if Tom ever escapes.

Passage Picker May 7,2010 140-170

Passage #1. "alls bob now,'said Midg. "No more hulk .No more guards and nobs and Weedle . Yes all' Bob now."
"It will be just the same somewhere else." Pg #161.
I found this passage interesting because the boys have given up on trying to escape and now they will be transported to Austrailia.

Passage #2. The ship was a ruin. Littered with boxes and barrels and tangles of rope, with huge stack of wood for cargo, it looked like a tumble old warehouse. Pg #168
I found this passage interesting because, Tom said that the ship was a beatiful ship when it was a run down and a very disasterous ship.

questioner April 29,2010

1. Who do you think poked out Midgleys eyes with the pin?
2. How long do you think that it would have taken for the boys to dig the hole without the spike?
3. What do you think happened to Penny after he jumped out of the boat?
4. Why didn't Tom follow through with his plan and ditch Midgley?
5. What do you think Tom was thinking when he saw Midgley and started to strangle Weedle.

The convicts, Authors message. April 23,2010

The authors message for this chapter of the book was to let the reader know that Tom is trying to dig his what through the hull. This chapter is also showing the dark side of Tom by lieing to Medgley and telling him that he is going to take him along with Tom. But Tom didn't want to take him along. Medgley is giving him all of this good information like they would have to drop out of the ship at December when the water is the lowest. do you think that it is a good idea for Tom to leave Midgley behind?

Passage picker (the convicts) April 13, 2010

Passage #1: in the book it says: 'A guard came running. he bashed me with his cane, then bashed Medgley, too. I cowered from him ducking my head, and in the angle below his raised arm I saw the Overseer watching.' I found this passage interesting because in modern time era, people aren't allowed to beat anyone unless they try to kill someone.

discussioner March 24

The most important part of this weeks discussion is that Tom (the main character) is wearing the dead boy's jacket and now everyone thinks that he is some bad kid called the smasher. Although Tom knows that he is not the smasher he cannot tell them that he is the not the smasher because he thinks that the boys will kill him. So right now he is just trying to keep it cool. But that changes when all of the children tell him to go up to a man and hit him in the back of the head with a cudgel. Tom could not do this and got blamed by the man for being a thief. Tom will probably get arrested for this.
